Millennial Net Announces 868 MHz Product Line for European Market

Product Family Establishes Millennial Net as Global Supplier for Wireless Sensor Networking Platforms

Munich, Germany--November 9, 2004--Millennial Net, Inc., the leading developer of self-organizing, wireless sensor networking systems, today announced a new wireless sensor networking platform that operates on 868 MHz radio band for license-free operation in Europe. The announcement was made at Electronica 2004, the international trade fair for components and assemblies in electronics. Millennial Net will be demonstrating wireless sensor networking applications in the Eurocomp showcase.

The iB-5208 family rounds out the Millennial Net product offerings that include the iB-5209 family for 916 MHz license-free operation in North America and the iB-5324 ZigBee-ready family for worldwide license-free operation on 2.4 GHz. The iB-5208 leverages Millennial Net’s industry-leading Persistent Dynamic Routing™ software which enables reliable and scalable wireless sensor deployments in dynamic RF environments. The combination software-hardware package delivers a complete platform for flexible and easy integration for a wide variety of wireless sensor applications. Advantages to using the lower-frequency radio band include extended RF range and less susceptibility to RF interference from other wireless protocols.

Development of the iB-5208 product family was in direct response to strong market need. "We are responding to tremendous interest and activity in Europe," said Mark Pacelle, vice president of marketing at Millennial Net. "Major European and global companies are looking for wireless sensor networking platforms across industries as varied as medical monitoring devices and hotel access management systems. They are all looking to quickly generate new revenue streams by integration wireless sensor networking capabilities into their offerings."

The Millennial Net iB-5208 product line will be available this quarter. An iB-5208 Evaluation Kit for OEM prototyping includes five endpoints, three routers, and one gateway, as well as the software API for application development and a GUI-based software monitor.
