Millennial Net Snags Investors' Choice Award

Company Voted One of 10 Companies with Greatest Potential to Succeed

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--April 27, 2004--Millennial Net, Inc., the leading developer of hardware and software for self-organizing, wireless sensor networks, today announced that Dow Jones VentureWire has selected Millennial Net as an Investors' Choice Award winner at its annual Wireless Ventures conference held last week in Redwood City, Calif. One of only 10 companies honored with the prestigious Investors' Choice distinction, Millennial Net was recognized as a start-up technology company that is best positioned for long-term success in the wireless space.

Invited by VentureWire to present wireless strategies, technologies and opportunities at Wireless Ventures, the 10 Investors' Choice Award winners were selected from among 54 privately held wireless technology presenters. Millennial Net was the only wireless sensor networking company to win the award. Conference attendees, comprising over 300 business leaders, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and industry analysts, in conjunction with an official judging panel, selected Millennial Net for the Investors' Choice Award. The award is based on the company's innovations in wireless sensor networking technology and its unique approach to solving user networking challenges and expanding revenue opportunities for OEMs and systems designers.

"The outlook for the wireless industry is getting better and better and the Investors' Choice Award winners are in prime position to take advantage of these opportunities," said Richard A. Shaffer, president and editor of Dow Jones Financial Information Services.

Millennial Net demonstrated its i-Bean® wireless sensor networking technology and presented on opportunities to capitalize on the emerging market for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and ubiquitous monitoring applications, one of the major themes of the conference. Millennial Net's technology allows users to connect devices in remote locations and collect and manage previously unattainable information for applications spanning industrial, healthcare, consumer and military markets. Millennial Net's technology and focus impressed attendees and judges with its ability to provide the best solutions to customers' sensor networking challenges, regardless of radio or other infrastructure requirements, while uniquely addressing the power-efficiency requirements of low-data rate sensor networks.

"Winning a VentureWire Investors' Choice Award represents an incredible vote of confidence from the venture capital and business community," said Mark Pacelle, vice president of marketing for Millennial Net. "This recognition affirms our ability to dominate the wireless sensor networking market through superior technology, best-in-class solutions and a product strategy that minimizes time-to-deployment for our commercial customers."

The VentureWire Investors' Choice Award adds to the numerous honors and industry analyst acclaim Millennial Net has already received over the last year. Millennial Net and its i-Bean technology are also recipients of awards and listings such as Sensors magazine's Sensors Express Readers' Choice Award; a Best of Sensors Award from Sensors Expo; FierceWireless' The Fierce 15; The FocalPoint Group, Inc.'s FocalPoint 40; and M2M Magazine's M2M 100.
